Honorius, 393-423. Solidus (Gold, 21 mm, 4.46 g, 11 h), Thessalonica, 395-402. D N HONORI-VS P F AVG Pearl-diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Honorius facing, his head turned slightly to right, holding spear in his right hand and with a shield, decorated with a horseman spearing a fallen foe, over his left shoulder; on breastplate, a cross. Rev. CONCOR-DIA AVGG / CONOB Constantinopolis, helmeted and head to right, seated facing on throne, holding scepter in her right hand and Victory globe in her left and placing her right foot on a prow. Depeyrot 45/2. RIC 38. Rare. A lustrous and clear example. Virtually as struck.
